A recently renovated Relais & Château hotel, Domaine du Mas de Pierre is an exclusive new wellness destination in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. With a marvellous sensory spa and its own little lagoon that lets you get away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, it’s the perfect place to unwind. Three- to five-day wellness stays are designed to awaken the immune system, revitalize skin beauty or restore inner harmony. The effectiveness of these stays comes from the synergy between different elements such as nutricosmetics, balanced menus and sports activities.
A hotel with a Provencal village feel
Located in the small village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, 15 km from Nice, this 5-star hotel boasts an atypical structure. Its large Mediterranean garden is surrounded by renovated bastides. Like a small southern hamlet, the Relais & Châteaux has an air of dolce vita. Following its renovation, which will be completed in April 2021, Le Mas de Pierre has been redesigned as a unique resort offering relaxed, friendly luxury.
This beautifully renovated facility features two new bastides and a spa designed by wellness experts. Other areas have been added, such as the Alice’s House trailers for children, a gourmet restaurant with “show” cuisine and an artificial lagoon with a beach adorned with palm trees and waterfalls.
To complete the hotel’s renovation, the accommodation has been modernized by interior designer Patrick Ribes. The atmosphere is cosy and authentic, and the roofs of the new bastides are entirely planted. The hotel’s commitment to respecting the environment and reducing energy consumption has earned it the European Ecolabel label.
Nestled in the hinterland between Cannes and Nice, the hotel and its superb garden intoxicate vacationers with Mediterranean fragrances and citrus scents. Electric bikes are also available for even more escapism in Provence. Enough to cover the region’s most beautiful roads without getting too tired.
In the heart of a Mediterranean garden
Surrounded by fragrant gardens and art sculptures, the hotel now comprises 9 restored bastides. One of these, the Bastide des Fleurs, is reserved exclusively for adults, and features suites with elegant, intimate decor. Their terraces are sheltered by a draped arbour and are located beside the large heated swimming pool reserved for adults. A butler specially dedicated to Bastide des Fleurs guests is on hand to satisfy every whim.
The other bastides also boast refined decoration in natural colors. The modern accommodations are punctuated by antique furniture and paintings collected by the estate’s owner. You’ll feel rested, as if out of time, with a view from every room over the verdant countryside. The elegant bathrooms are in white marble, and Fragonard home products reveal all the fragrances of Grasse.
Sensory relaxation in the magnificent spa
The estate’s brand new spa focuses on the discovery of the senses. Spread over 2,000 m² on three levels, the different areas are arranged around the relaxation zone. In pearly tones and bathed in natural light, the spa is a relaxing oasis scented with tuberose flower, a typical Saint-Paul de Vence flower. Renowned perfumer Sonia Godet has created a unique fragrance using 55 natural ingredients, including the Domaine’s signature Tuberose flower. It is now used in the spa as an enchanting interior fragrance, and also in skincare products.
At Domaine du Mas de Pierre, water plays a central role, with a large 25-meter outdoor pool in the center of the estate and an elegant 18-meter indoor pool at the heart of the spa. It is heated all year round and features swimming lanes and a fitness trail. After a few massages with water jets, you can relax on the hydromassage and bubbling benches. The course also includes counter-current aquabikes if required. Next to it is an outdoor Jacuzzi.
The sensations continue in the steam room, the herbal sauna, the salt grotto and the snow grotto, a 12°C cabin with an ice wall. Temperature contrast is particularly sought after for skin firming.
The roof terrace features a solarium where meditation and yoga sessions are also held. For other sporting activities, the resort features an outdoor multisport court and a fitness area in the spa. It is equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym cardio and weight machines that can be used with the Kinesis movement concept.
Wellness and nutricosmetics experts
The Domaine du Mas de Pierre is establishing itself as a new wellness destination in its own right. A three- to five-day wellness cure is available. These stays are created by the hotel’s dietician nutritionist and osteopath to bring a more holistic perspective to the wellness experience.
Supervised by specialists, these programs include various spa treatments as well as exercise sessions and healthy meals prepared by the chef. Nutricosmetics support is also included. All the food supplements used and recommended by the spa experts are of natural and organic origin, manufactured by the French laboratory D-Lab .
These wellness stays focus on several elements such as body movement, cosmetics, therapeutic techniques and healthy food to achieve different goals.
The Detox & Silhouette program aims to free the liver and other organs from toxins. The Secret de beauté stay aims to beautify the skin by nourishing it with balneotherapy and collagen-based cosmetics. To help you gradually let go, the D-Stress stay focuses on gentle practices based on yoga, meditation and sophrology. The Body boost stay is designed to stimulate the immune system with hydrotherapy treatments and foot reflexology massages.
Southern cuisine in tune with the seasons
At Domaine du Mas de Pierre, locavore cuisine is a priority. All the ingredients sublimated in the hotel’s kitchens respect the cycle of the seasons. The best local artisans and producers are selected by the chef himself. The hotel also boasts its own herb garden, which is used to perfume and decorate all dishes in the gourmet restaurant La Table de Pierre.
In a refined, romantic atmosphere, Chef Emmanuel Lehrer, his Second Maxime Leconte and their brigades prepare dishes right before the guests’ eyes. A unique experience, where conviviality takes on its full meaning. During the week, a variety of events are organized in the restaurant. Every Sunday, the spotlight is on dishes to share. Thursdays in summer are Garden Party time, when large gourmet buffets, grilled meats and wine tastings create fond summer memories.
The brand-new Bistrot Lis Orto is reminiscent of traditional Nice bistros. The daily specials are posted on the slate, and the recipes handed down from generation to generation.
