Far from the noise of the city and its lights, with a very limited mobile network, we find ourselves lost in the middle of nowhere, in a landscape that could remind us of Mongolia, and it’s the perfect place to find ourselves. Instants d’Absolu, Ecologe & Spa du Lac du Pêcher, was born from the vision of founders Laurence Costa and Daniel Siegel just 10 years ago. This end-of-the-world address has become a benchmark for lovers of wide-open spaces and rejuvenation .
An intimate hotel with just 12 rooms
In total harmony with nature, this house stands on the Cézallier plateau, in the heart of a wild and unspoilt area classified as a “sensitive natural space” and a Natura 2000 site, a bird migration corridor. The twelve cosy rooms have adopted the safari spirit.
Plaids in alpaca, linen or wool, sheepskin or rabbit skin create an eco chic atmosphere. All rooms overlook Lac du Pêcher. Please note that rooms are not equipped with TV or wifi, as the emphasis here is on contact with nature. You’ve got to listen to the frogs and the birds!
A new terrace, built in 2020, looks out over the lake for better observation of the migratory birds that like to visit the site. Ducks, passerines and wading birds can also be seen, and with a bit of luck, even deer at bellowing time.
An unusual spa connected to nature
The “boreal spa” works to purify body and mind, opening majestically onto the lake. Geobiologist Vincent Givord has created anenergy harmonization trail to rediscover the “ancient alliance” between Man and Nature.
Replacing the original Jacuzzi, a stainless steel bath now offers the experience of chromotherapy combined with underwater music. The spa also features a forest-side sauna, and a view of the volcano from the Nordic hammam. There is also a listening room for guided meditations.
Laurence and Daniel propose a thala-source® offer in fusion with this territory, just as thalassotherapy connects with the sea elsewhere: a range of wet and dry treatments, in the very image of a thalassotherapy cure, as part of an individual or couple treatment. Here, no seawater but mineralized spring water and all the benefits of volcanic soil (volcano clay wraps, volcanic sand scrubs…). All massages are performed using organic oils and products.
New “transformational” wellness retreats
“Instants d’Absolu” Ecolodge & Spa is first and foremost about a place that teaches and transforms. Laurence Costa has designed a series of wellness breaks called “Sève de Vie”.s domestic travel which are rooted in the wonder of living things, i.e. the beautiful, unspoilt nature into which the ecolodge blends. The stays are designed with the involvement of numerous wellness practitioners: Sophrologist, yoga teacher, hypnotherapist, nature guide, art therapist…
The ecolodge also offers workshops in meditation, relaxation or breath practice, reiki sessions and yoga-based body exercises. Numerous outdoor possibilities: snowshoeing in winter, horseback riding in the Pinatelle forest, introduction to Jöring skiing (Nordic skiing pulled by a horse), dog sledding, and sylvotherapy (have you ever hugged a tree?)…
