ENGEL Ayurpura is an ayurvedic hotel in Italy’s Dolomites . It’s the first and only of its kind in the region! Nestled in breathtaking surroundings at an altitude of 1,200 meters, it’s a family-run business, originally founded in 1830 as a farm, then expanded by the Kohler family in 1862. Today, over a century later, the tradition of hospitality continues in the age-old Indian art of Ayurveda.
This holistic approach to Ayurveda is embedded in every aspect of the hotel, from treatments to cuisine, led by long-time expert Dr Vaidya Swami Nath. Dr Vaidya Swami Nath Mishra, Italy’s only Ayurvedic doctor, heads the ENGEL Ayurpura team. An expert in pulse diagnosis and Panchakarma, he has contributed to Ayurveda in Italy, notably by directing the Ananda Ashram school in Milan before joining Hotel Engel in 2018. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Mishra has a wealth of experience in Ayurvedic medicine and is the author of several books on the subject.
