This former seigniorial residence boasts a chic, historic ambience with antique decor and a beautiful spa by Sisley. Here, everything is done to enjoy life under the Provencal sun. From the intoxicating scents of phyto-aromatic massages to radiance-boosting rituals, let yourself be swept away by a wave of well-being.
In the heart of one of France’s most beautiful villages
Overlookingone of France’s most beautiful villages, Gordes, this palace owned by Airelles Collection is surrounded by a beautiful historic heritage. La Bastide is built on the original 16th-century ramparts. This residence retains its authenticity, notably through the use of chic furnishings in the style of yesteryear. It was renovated in 2015 to reproduce the atmosphere of an 18th-century seigneurial château. Even the staff are dressed in traditional local garb. It’s hard not to succumb to the nobility of the place and the sweetness of Provence.
Avignon TGV station and Marseille-Provence Marignane airport are the nearest TGV stations for exploring this Palace and its region. Both are just a 40-minute drive from the Bastide de Gordes.
Unique rooms with antique decor
The authentic decor of the hotel’s 34 rooms and 6 suites is remarkable. The historic charm of this home is reflected in the woodwork, old stonework and vaulted ceilings, as well as in the small objects here and there, the antique furniture and the large period paintings. Many of them have been acquired from leading antique dealers. All our homes are uniquely decorated.
With views over the valley or the village, the hotel’s rooms are all different. They range in size from 24 to 34 m², and can be connected to other rooms. Sometimes there’s a free-standing bathtub or an antique fireplace.
As for the suites, some have the privilege of a terrace overlooking the village’s historic ramparts, while others benefit from a second bedroom. Here, the rough-hewn wooden beams are exposed and the walls are covered with limewash paint and toile de Jouy.
Last but not least, for group travelers, the Maison de Constance is a grandiose accommodation: a villa with a large shady garden with swimming pool, living room, dining room, and five bedrooms with private bathrooms, as well as relaxation areas and even a dedicated butler depending on the season.
A Sisley spa with incomparable cachet
La Bastide de Gordes has teamed up with French company Sisley to create a surprising spa world. The spaces are inspired by great abbeys. Consistent with the hotel’s other spaces, the finest materials add character to this 1,600 m² spa.
Under the vaulted ceilings, you’ll find a large indoor pool, steam room, sauna and sensory showers. The relaxation area also features a relaxation lounge, manicure/pedicure salon, herbal tea room and terrace. Relaxation continues with treatments in cabins overlooking the Lubéron Massif. They all have private terraces for pampering in the sunshine. One of them is specially designed for couples.
Sisley is renowned for the high quality of its products with plant extracts and essential oils. Their aromatherapeutic virtues combine wonderfully with rituals inspired by ancient traditions.
Sisley Phyto-Aromatic Facial and Body Treatments, Expert Massages and Beauty Treatments are offered in a refined atmosphere, where wood, stone and natural light intermingle.
For sports enthusiasts, a fitness room equipped with various Technogym “Artis” machines is available. If you would like to benefit from personalized coaching, courses can be organized on request. Yoga sessions take place in the hotel gardens.
Outside, there’s no shortage of sporting activities. Our concierges are ready to cater to your every need. Horse riding, go-karting, accrobranche, canoeing, golf, off-road scooter… Electric bicycles are also available.
Discover Provence differently
There’s never a dull moment at Bastide de Gordes. The hotel is within easy reach of many places of natural beauty and well-preserved heritage. But if you’ve run out of ideas, the Palace offers a wide range of activities, including open-air cinema, retro 2CV escapades and hot-air balloon rides… On certain evenings, an enthusiastic astronomer comes to share all the little secrets of the stars and planets with Palace guests.
You can also spend a day at Château d’Estoublon, also owned by Airelles Collection, visiting the estate and tasting its wines and olive oils, finishing with a refined lunch at La Table d’Estoublon.
Gourmet delights in a Provencal setting
With five restaurants, each more delicious than the last, it’s hard to choose where to eat. But on Sundays, there’s no doubt about it: l’Orangerie restaurant offers a colorful brunch, accompanied by hot drinks and champagne.
La Bastide’s Chef and Pastry Chef work hand in hand to perfect local produce, and craft sweet and savory delights. Mediterranean products are on the menu at La Citadelle, the Bastide’s historic restaurant.
Le Clover Gordes is another gourmet Provencal address not to be missed: Chef Jean-François Piège sublimates local produce to offer a taste experience as traditional as it is modern. To top it all off, enjoy a convivial meal on a terrace scented with aromatic herbs.
At Bastide de Pierres, Provence takes on an Italian trattoria feel. Traditional transalpine cuisine is served in a local artisan atmosphere, overlooking the Castle. Last but not least, Le TIGrr amazes with its Asian-inspired cuisine.
